I won the Independent MONTHLY Young Writer of the Year Award in 1995 and then won the Best Australian Sports Writing Award in 1996. I had wind in my hair. I’ve won various awards for profile writing, somehow, over the years.
Craiglee
People in a landscape; wine’s great drawcard. This Winefront article on the Craiglee winery has always had a special place, for whatever reason. Here it is as it was published. It won the Australian Wine Communicator Award in 2004.
Dulcie’s Vineyard
I never met Dulcie but I love her anyway. I wrote an article on the vineyard she kept. It was published on Winefront and won Best Feature Article at the Australian Wine Communicator Awards in 2013. Here the article is as it was published.

I was the Editor of Halliday Magazine. Twice. As in, two separate stints at it.

Every year, for eight years, James Halliday and I nutted out the 50 best Aussie red wines, for value and quality. He did the expensive stuff, I did the cheap stuff.
