Phone Pic Blog

I was an ultra-late adopter to phone photography. I’ve gone backwards and forwards between Apple and Android phones over the years but most of my Apple-phone years were when I hardy used phones for photography. I started to adopt my phone as a camera during a Google Pixel 2 era, and ultra-slowly continued to pick it up with a Samsung S21, and have now embraced it far more fully with a Google Pixel 9 Pro. The Pixel 9 shoots in RAW, which is always good. I use a range of ‘real’ cameras – Fujifilm X series, Fujifilm GFX series, Sony Alpha series, Sony A6700 series as well as a couple of film cameras. Because of this I was always a bit snobby about phone cameras – either that or I just didn’t think much about them, because I’ve always got a real camera with me. But these days I’d be happy to take a phone pic and print it large, or use a phone pic as the front cover image etc. That is, my confidence in phone images has skyrocketed.
