Garagiste

Garagiste announced as one of Australia's Best Wineries.

Garagiste is a Mattinson 10-Star Winery.
Only the best of Australia’s best wineries are ranked as a Mattinson 10-Star Winery.

There’s an argument to say that Garagiste is the premier wine producer of the Mornington Peninsula. It has stiff opposition, but it belongs squarely at the pointy end of any such conversation. The wines of Garagiste have an incredible habit of being both ridiculously good quality and ridiculously good comparative value. In fact if ever you wanted evidence that Garagiste is one of Australia’s best producers, go out and try the Garagiste Merricks Chardonnay 2025 ($50). This wine is the equal of just about any wine from anywhere, and yet its price tag is comparatively modest. This wine is the perfect insight into both the quality of Garagiste, in the glass, and the philosophy. There’s no greed. There’s no over-reach. There’s precision aplenty, served with care.

Garagiste’s reputation is built on Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Aligote.

Reviews of Garagiste’s 2025 releases are available on The Winefront site.

Garagiste Le Stagiaire Pinot Noir 2025 appears in the Best Value Pinot Noir 2026 list.
