There are gentle oxidative notes here but the mid palate is still alive and singing. Black cherry, smoked meat, leather, honey and an array of herb characters lead into apricot and sweet-scented flowers. There’s an earthen, coffee-ground character to the tannin and to the finish in general, which is a more than pleasant way to exit the wine – and which keeps you coming back for more. 92 points.
