Oakdene Peta’s Pinot Noir 2022

This is spicy and lively but also quite tannic, all of which factors suggest that it would team well with food. The acidity here almost has a tomato-like edge, which might lead some to question the wine’s ripeness. To me it just feels lively, in a savoury way. Cranberry, light red cherry, woodsmoke, meat and leaf matter characters all get a run here. It’s not an emphatic wine but it’s composed and complete in its own way. I’d happily buy-drink this and would happily give it a score around the 92/100 mark.

Price: AU $40.
