Chateau Haut-Bailly Grand Cru Classe 2021 review

Bottle of Chateau Haut-Bailly Grand Cru Classe 2021 for review.

Game characters lift straight off the nose, mixed with tomato leaf, mint, woodsmoke and redcurrant. For the most part the palate is juicy and light, all red cherries, redcurrant and strawberries, with lifted florals and well-finessed tannin, up to a point. But the wine then becomes drying through the finish, with more of that smoky, meaty, gamey character rearing. There are positives to be found but personally I would save my money and move on from this wine.

Price: AU $295.

Made using Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
