BEST AUSTRALIAN WINERIES

Australia doesn’t have an ingrained rank of vineyard sites, or a formal classification of producers. This list of Australia’s best wineries therefore is dynamic and up-to-date with the reality of now. It answers the question: who are Australia’s Best Wine producers, now? Producers will be added; producers will fall off. These changes will occur in an environment of complete independence. This site does not sell wine, does not auction wine, and has no vested interest in the marketing or exchange of wine. Life isn’t fair but this site is. This list of
Australia’s Best Wineries is a meritocracy.

This list is not restricted or expanded to a set number of wineries. A set number adds a layer of artifice. This list is compiled by one criteria and by one criteria only: the quality of wine in the glass.

This month, five producers were added to this list of Australia’s Best Wineries. The wineries added were: Paringa Estate, Stonier and Garagiste, all from the Mornington Peninsula. All are great Australian wine producers, at the top of their game. The Xanadu winery in Margaret River was also added. Xanadu is a producer of outstanding chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon in particular, the latter on an incredible run of wine show success. The Dr. Edge winery from Tasmania was the fifth wine producer added to this list this month. The Dr. Edge story is one of the more remarkable stories in Australian wine, and the wines are the equal of it. The Dr. Edge Barrique Matured Chardonnay 2025 (reviewed on The Winefront) is superb.
