Three Cuts Gin Founder’s Release

Mattinson review of Three Cuts Gin Founder’s Release.

Three Cuts Gin Founder’s Release
$79.95 (700ml), 42% alcohol, screwcap, Tasmania.

This is such a pretty gin. I taste/review a fair many and very few jump out of the glass like this one. It’s just so floral, with such bursts of juniper and pink musk sticks and woody cardamon, that the main question really is: do you want to celebrate its overt characters or do you want to blend them into something more complex? I tried it with soda and then with a basic tonic and I kept wanting more so I added lime cordial and then it was singing. The take-home: this gin is super pretty with extravagant floral characters. For that, it’s out of the ordinary.
