Tasmanian Whisky Week 2026 returns for its tenth year
Tasmania's biggest celebration of whisky is back. Tasmanian Whisky Week 2026 runs from 1 to 9 August, marking a decade of the festival – nine days of tastings, masterclasses, distillery tours and exclusive bottlings spread across the island, from the Tamar Valley in the north to Hobart's waterfront in the south.
Presented by the Tasmanian Whisky & Spirits Association, the week is built around getting drinkers face to face with the makers: guided flights led by the distillers themselves, deep-dive masterclasses on maturation and blending, and behind-the-scenes access at distillery doors in every region.
The centrepiece is the Aon Tasmanian Whisky Showcase, held this year on Saturday 8 August at Princes Wharf No. 1 on Hobart's waterfront. From 1pm to 7pm, every Tasmanian distillery pours side by side in a single room – the one afternoon of the year you can taste the whole island in a sitting, with distillers, blenders and brand ambassadors on the floor to talk you through each dram. Expect single-cask and festival-only releases poured until they run out. The Showcase is an 18+ event, and tickets, as ever, go fast.
