$67, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Barossa/Eden Valley.

Henschke’s Keyneton Euphonium is a blend of shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot. It’s what we used to call a “Bordeaux blend”. This release is firm and curranty with mint, vanilla cream, truffle, dark olive and tobacco characters layered throughout. It feels both serious and complex, an impression aided by the sinewy nature of the tannin. In some ways this wine is still settling in and getting itself comfortable; it will be a charmer once it’s had more time to mellow. 93 points.
