Watkins Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Mattinson review of Watkins Cabernet Sauvignon 2021.

Watkins Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$25, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Langhorne Creek.

This is a mid-weight red wine with just enough velvet to the mouthfeel to make you think that you’re onto something good. It tastes of blackcurrant, mint, plum and dried herbs, though really it just tastes and feels seamless and cohesive. There’s a salty, olive-like note to the aftertaste but there’s also ripe fruit flavour there too. The take-home here is: this is a good, mid-weight wine, and good value. 90 points.
