Leconfield DGR Cabernet Shiraz 2022

Mattinson review of Leconfield DGR Cabernet Shiraz 2022.

Leconfield DGR Cabernet Shiraz 2022
$70, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Coonawarra.

DGR stands for ‘Damn Good Red’, the red here alluding to both the wine itself but also to the famous red-orange hue of the best Coonawarra soils, from which this wine was grown. We’re looking at a concentrated, plush, luxurious wine here, creamy-soft to the touch and awash with plum, mint, toast, blackurrant and vanilla flavours. The tannin here too feels robust, which is in keeping with the wine as a whole. This wine delivers mouthfilling flavours in soft, smooth, structured style. It will provide great pleasure to a lot of people. 93/100.
