$80, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Pyrenees.

At eight years of age this has mellowed and is soft, but it still feels substantial. It’s at the perfect stage of its development, and while it will keeping maturing for some years yet, we have now entered its peak drinking years. It tastes of tobacco, sweet cherries, leather, ironstone, mint and chocolate, the net effect soft, fresh, complex and mouthfilling. As a mature wine, this is a lovely wine to drink. 94 points.
