$10, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Clare Valley.

This is not a great wine – I would be about 88/100 if I was scoring it – but it’s fantastic value at the price. I mean, $10 and you get a well-fruited, well-balanced red wine with good plum-driven flavours, a subtle lift of mint, and a gentle creamy-ness to the mouthfeel. That’s not bad. Normally you’d be looking at closer to $20 for this quality. So yes, if you see this at Aldi stores in Australia, it’s well worth a shot.
