Best’s Grampians Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Mattinson review of Best’s Grampians Cabernet Sauvignon 2022.

Best’s Grampians Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
$15, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Grampians.

$15 for a Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Australia’s best wine producers. On face value that’s a pretty interesting proposition.

Truth is that it’s not a great wine but that it drinks (very) well. In fact it’s pretty damn satisfying. Licorice, boysenberry and currant flavours team with mint and briar. It feels fresh and it feels sound, and it has no rough edges. It has decent regional/cabernet character too. 89/100.

Importantly, Mattinson will tell you about the top-rated wines and also about the underrated wines. In short, Mattinson knows Australian wines inside and out.
