De Bortoli Windy Peak Pinot Noir 2025
De Bortoli Windy Peak Pinot Noir 2025
$15, 13% alcohol, screwcap, Victoria.
Full disclosure: the RRP is $15 but I bought this for $10, and it’s that $10 figure that gets this wine onto these pages. You don’t find drinkable Pinot Noir for $10 often. It’s a slight wine, even in pinot noir terms, with strings of herb and light red cherry/cranberry fruit flavours pushing throughout. It’s more about refreshment than flavour, to be honest. With food it would work OK but by itself it would feel a bit too wimpy, though it might work if you’re got a heavy dose of a I-just-want-something-light mood. I’d almost, almost, say that this wine works best as a red-wine-for-white-wine-drinkers. But really the key points are these: It’s not rough. It’s $10. It’s refreshing. 86 points.
