Eight at the Gate Family Selection Chardonnay 2023
$38, 12.9% alcohol, screwcap, Wrattonbully.

This wine is characterised by its long lines of elegant flavour. It tastes of wheat, bacon, stonefruit and apricot kernels, which might make it sound as if the fruit flavours themselves are lacking, but they’re not. It’s just that it feels seamless and complex in an easy-going way, the core of fruit inlaid with savouriness. It all works (very) nicely. 91 points.
