Allegiance Wines The Artisan Cabernet Sauvignon 2024
$50, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Coonawarra.

This is a serious red wine. It’s sizeable, it’s rigidly firm, it’s dry at every turn and it’s arguably been made to be cellared. Blackcurrant, gravel, dark chocolate, Italian herbs and mint notes do all the talking, though all is spoken in a dry, gravelly, mouth-puckering voice. This wine needs either heart food or a good deal of time; the tannin in this wine will see it through for the long haul. 92 points.
