Allegiance Wines The Artisan McLaren Vale Reserve Shiraz 2021

Mattinson review of The Artisan Reserve Barossa Shiraz 2021

Allegiance Wines The Artisan McLaren Vale Reserve Shiraz 2021
$65, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, McLaren Vale.

Soft, almost syrupy flavours of sweet plum, coconut oil, vanilla and peppercorn come purring through the palate. I guess that you could call this old school but it’s a seductive rendition thereof. It sits firmly on the bold side of medium weight, it’s well sustained throughout, and its meaty/charry spice notes on the finish are an apt complement to the wine as a whole. If hearty shiraz is your go, you will enjoy this. 93 points.
