Moppity Block M4 Shiraz 2022

Mattinson review of Moppity Block M4 Shiraz 2022

Moppity Block M4 Shiraz 2022
$45, 13.5% alcohol, screwcap, Hilltops.

This is a beautiful Hilltops shiraz. It’s all about drinking enjoyment but then, if you care to notice, it has myriad flavours and scents as part of its arsenal. These include blueberries, woodsy spices, purple flowers and smoked meat notes, with red licorice and sweet, smoky, toasty oak for afters. Viognier has been used to judicious effect here, adding to the lift and general complexity, as indeed have whole bunches. This is a wine of power, balance and structural integrity. It boasts both finesse and flavour; the dynamic duo of wine. 94 points.
