Purple Hands Wines Thomas Rise Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

Mattinson review of Purple Hands Wines Thomas Rise Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022.

Purple Hands Wines Thomas Rise Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022
$70, 15% alcohol, screwcap, Barossa Valley.

There’s deep, dark fruit flavour here and there’s a fair deal of complexity too. This is a Barossa shiraz with some extras on its side. It tastes of malt, blackberry, sweet plum and game, with bacon fat, asphalt and saltbush notes as highlights, or at least as treble. This is a hefty wine, and a warm-hearted one, and one that feels satisfying at every turn. There’s a chocolatey. Malteser-like character to the aftertaste which only aids the overall, positive impression. 93 points.
