Pyren Vineyard Cabernet 2023

Mattinson review of Pyren Vineyard Cabernet 2023.

Pyren Vineyard Cabernet 2023
$110, 13.5% alcohol, DIAM cork, Pyrenees.

The backbone of this wine is fleshed with the flavours of boysenberry, blackcurrant, red cherry and coffee grounds, all of which is the perfect bedding for top notes of dried herbs, woodsmoke and roasted nuts. This cabernet walks to the beat of its own drum, flavour-wise, but it’s blessed with sinewy tannin and excellent length, and accordingly it has cellarworthinecs written all over it. 94 points.
