Watkins Grenache 2022

Mattinson review of Watkins Grenache 2022.

Watkins Grenache 2022
$25, 14.5%, screwcap, Langhorne Creek.

When grenache is made in a fresh, unforced way it makes for wonderful, fun-but-serious drinking. This is an example of a grenache that fits with the fresh-faced style, and as a result is excellent to drink. It tastes of raspberries, red cherries, sweet spice and peppercorns and while it has substance, it’s not heavy or taxing. There’s good buying/drinking to be had here. 91 points.
