Teakle Riesling 2025

Mattinson review of Teakle Riesling 2025.

Teakle Riesling 2025
$30, 12% alcohol, screwcap, Port Lincoln/The Peninsula South Australia.

This is a genuinely good riesling. It is because it offers intensity of fruit flavour – and the length to go with it – but also because it is distinctive. It tastes of pebbles and bath salts, kaffir lime and pure lemon, with grapefruit pulp and lemon rind notes running through the aftertaste. It begs for food as all good riesling does but, along the way, you can’t help but admire the character on offer here. 93 points.
