The Lane Vineyard Estate Syrah 2022
$60, 13.5% alcohol, screwcap, Adelaide Hills.

There’s an inherent prettiness to this wine but then it’s also meaty and substantial. It carries more than its fair share of elegance too. It tastes of black cherries, roasted plums, smoked meats and leaf matter, with red rose and cedar characters adding extra polish. This wine is dry and firm but the fruit still feels juicy, and the finish is well sustained. From every angle, basically, it’s an excellent wine. 94 points.
