The centre of this wine is a dark pool of flavour, the edges are fresh and energetic, and the finish is both satisfying and lively at once. We head into black cherry, leather, ironstone and smoked meat flavours straight up here, though there’s also a gentle coating of vanilla-cream and an associated soft-smoothness to this wine’s mouthfeel. It’s both a serious wine and an easy wine to like. The way tannin spreads through the finish really helps to elevate it too. 92+ points.
