Chateau Tanunda 100 Year Old Vines Shiraz 2021

Chateau Tanunda 100 Year Old Vines Shiraz 2021
$180, 14.5% alcohol, cork, Barossa Valley.

This is a Barossa shiraz with its flavours written in ink. It’s bold, black and beautiful, its plum jam, asphalt, licorice and toast characters served deep-flavoured and warm. Dark chocolate flavours add yet more, as do burnt hay and peppermint notes. There’s a port-like richness to this wine but it finishes dry and firm. This is an emphatic example of the big, super-ripe end of red wine town. 94 points.
