$36, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Margaret River.

The oak on this wine needs time to settle in and down but in all other respects this is exceptional. The interest, the spread of tannin, the length of the finish; it goes straight into wow territory. It tastes of woodsmoke, cedar, strings of herbs, red cherry, dust and mint, and the way that it fans across the palate and then lingers on is exceptional. Give it another year in the bottle and then you’re off to the races. 95 points.
