Hamilton Through Turramurra Chardonnay 2018
$50, 13% alcohol, screwcap, Mornington Peninsula.

This wine offers a good deal of flavour, the texture to match, and a bit of extra character as well. It’s eight years old but it shows only minor signs of development, and is still drinking well – and will continue to drink well for at least another few years. It tastes of grilled peach, pineapple, sweet nectarine, tinned pear and honeysuckle, with candied citrus and barley sugar characters wafting about the edges. It tastes good, basically. 91 points.
