Jim Barry Spring Farm Block 74 Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$200, 13.4% alcohol, screwcap, Clare Valley.

This is from a block planted in 1977. It’s a dry, cool, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon of enormous presence and remarkable freshness. It’s also tannic in the most laser-like of ways, its sheets of tannin flashing through the wine like light, or rather like light that can be felt, as if when you drink this wine you stand beside a light pole, and feel its beam, not to mention its sturdiness, and its standing. This is cabernet. This is the Clare. 96 points.
