There’s ample beef here but mouthwatering acidity too, both of which team well with well-tamed oak. It all feels neat and well measured. Toasty oak, rich plums, red cherry and peppercorn characters bleed into smoke and deli meat characters. It’s complex but it’s also harmonious. The flavours pull together and, essentially, it just works. 91 points.
