Balance has never been the sexiest word in wine but arguably, it should be. This wine is Exhibit A in that regard, in that its balance is so exquisitely well judged. Every nuance and aspect of this medium-weight wine is perfectly placed. It tastes of blackcurrant, blueberry, black olives and red licorice, with musk, spearmint and subtle floral notes hovering throughout. Tannin is ultra fine-grained, and everything about the finish feels confident – as indeed does everything about this wine. 94+ points.
