Reschke Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Campbell Mattinson is a leading commentator on Australian wines. This is his independent review of Reschke Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022.

Reschke Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
$12, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Coonawarra.

This 2022 release is exclusive to Aldi stores. It’s a nice-enough red wine but I wouldn’t go hard at it. It tastes of mint, bay leaf and currants, it’s medium in body, and it flows smoothly/softly enough through the palate. My colleague at The Winefront described this as tasting like “cherry chocolate cake” and that’s a pretty good description. It’s sweet fruited and easy to drink. 88 points.
