Baigorri Crianza 2020

Bottle of Baigorri Crianza 2020.

Baigorri Crianza 2020
$28, 14.5%, cork, Rioja/Spain.

This is mostly made with tempranillo though grenache and a few other bits and bobs are in the mix. It’s matured in both French and American oak, and is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

It’s flavoursome, it’s creamy, it’s laced with graphite, black cherry and redcurrant, and it carries notes of green olives and vanilla. It’s rich but well mannered, is the take-home, with just enough tannin to keep the finish tidy and dry. This wine is good for both character and value. 91 points.
