$35, 12.5% alcohol, screwcap, Tasmania.

This is a straight, well-structured, line-and-length style of pinot gris with pear, musk, nectarine and aromatic herb notes playing cohesively through the full length of the palate. It’s drinking well now, in a fresh-and-fruity way, but its inherent structure and subtle tautness suggest that it will improve a good deal with some extra time in the bottle. It’s got some tricks, this wine, though a few of them are still tucked up its sleeve. 92+ points.
