The pitch here is perfect. The berry flavours, whilst bright and energetic, have a darkness to them, almost like blueberries and forest berries mixed in with fresh red cherries. Layered through these fruit flavours are spice notes, harmonious and flamboyant at once, along with woodsmoke, cedar, dried herbs and autumn leaves. It’s an exotic presentation of flavour, aided at first by a slip of softness and then abetted by both exquisite balance and carefully etched tannin. 94 points.
