Aldi knows how to find ‘em. This Vinarium Chardonnay is made by the noted Fowles winery and is killer value at $16. The thing is, it’s flavoursome. It tastes of pears and peaches with butter and spice notes tossed through, and while it delivers plenty it remains fresh and, indeed, crisp. There’s a slip of texture – it’s like grape skins – which is always good but this kind of texture works especially well with chardonnay. This is good buying at $16.
