Mattinson review of Parker Estate Block 95 2022

Parker Estate Block 95 2022
$65, 14.5%, screwcap, Coonawarra.

This is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from Coonawarra. The first word that springs to mind, after your first sip, is robust. This is a muscular, ample-bodied red wine with blackcurrant, dark chocolate, tobacco and boysenberry characters flooding throughout. There’s a distinct firmness to the finish, which gives the wine a real flex; it’s pumped up with flavour but it’s tense and taut at the same time. This wine is therefore hearty and tannic but also neat. It’s good now and it has a future ahead of it. 93 points.
