This is the kind of hearty cabernet that we all need in our lives. It’s varietally true, for starters, but it offers such a sure-footed, velvety glide of blackcurrant flavour, tipped with mint, aniseed and tobacco, that drinking it feels like both a pleasure and a privilege. Creamy mouthfeel, good complexity, ripe fruit flavour, fine-grained tannin and impressive length. Every box is ticked. This is a beauty. 94 points.
