Glen Eldon Twisted Trunk Reserve Shiraz 2023

Mattinson review of Glen Eldon Twisted Trunk Reserve Shiraz 2023.

Glen Eldon Twisted Trunk Reserve Shiraz 2023
$200, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Barossa Valley.

It’s grown on vines that were planted in 1865. Yes, 1865. It smells and tastes of resiny vanillin but from there we’re straight into a deep, rich, intense pool of dark berried flavour, all saturated and intense. This is a wine that speaks in the most certain of terms. The fruit through the back half of this wine is washed through with authoritative, grainy tannin; the finish itself is then well sustained. This is a wine of exemplary depth and power. 94 points.
