McWilliam’s Wines 660 Reserve Shiraz 2024

Mattinson review of McWilliam’s Wines 660 Reserve Shiraz 2024.

McWilliam’s Wines 660 Reserve Shiraz 2024
$25, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Canberra District.

This is a juicy, elegant, engaging red wine with ripe, red cherried flavours as the main driver. Pepper, musk and roasted spice notes are minor players – just enough to put a tick beside the word ‘savoury’ – but from start to finish this is a fruit-driven wine, with red licorice flavours emerging as the wine breathes. There are floral highlights here and a soft, velvety aspect to the texture too. In short, there’s good drinking to be had here. 91 points.
