Cape Jaffa Epic Drop Shiraz 2022

Mattinson review of Cape Jaffa Epic Drop Shiraz 2022.

Cape Jaffa Epic Drop Shiraz 2022
$40, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Mount Benson.

This is a medium-weight shiraz with raspberry, red licorice, orange blossom and peppercorn flavours rippling attractively throughout. It’s warm of heart but elegant in nature, its fruit, oak, dried flower and spice characters all contributing in an unforced, easy-to-appreciate way. There’s a lifted almost peanut-brittle-like note to the nose, which heightens the wine’s attractiveness further. 91 points.
