AU$42, 12.2% alcohol, DIAM cork, Whitlands High Plateau/King Valley.

This is where savouriness meets fruitiness meets an extra linger of flavour. This is a light-but-intriguing red wine. It tastes of crushed violets, red cherries, cranberries and darker berry notes, though it’s the thread of undergrowth, aromatic herbs, plum blossom and smoked meat characters that really draws you in. It’s a wine of finesse, structure and interest. Put this on your dining table and you’re in for a good time. 92 points.
