$120, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Coonawarra.

Mint and licorice characters, served strong and clear, sink into blackcurrant, tobacco, bitter herbs, walnuts and redcurrant. This wine is bright, bold and succulent at once, with pitch perfect integration of fruit, tannin, acid and chocolatey oak. The fruit here is indeed swoon-worthy. The feeling of freshness is, in the context of concentration, excellent. The walnut and herb notes here might distract some, but from start to finish we’re looking at a high quality wine. 93 points.
