$75, 13.4% alcohol, DIAM cork, Adelaide Hills.

This is a fine-boned Pinot Noir with complexity to burn and the length to go with it. Personally I’d stick this in the cellar and wait a wee while – for which patience I’d expect to be greatly rewarded. It’s strung with herb, smoked meat, earth, briar and complex spice notes, though it’s all run on rails of strawberry, red cherry and woodsmoke. Tannin, sinewy, is a particular highlight. If I haven’t yet made it clear: the territory we’re in here is excellent, most especially if you’re patient. 93+ points.
