$55, 14.5% alcohol, cork, Barossa Valley.

I like the rosy-ness of this wine. It’s a mature Grenache with leather, aromatic herb, orange rind and floral characters floating through raspberry, red roses and earth. There’s ample developed character here – its peak drinking time is now – but its overt rose petal characters, attached to red berried fruit flavours, make it seem both pretty and joyous. The finesse of the tannin here is, too, beyond reproach. 91 points.
