Bekkers McLaren Vale Grenache 2023

Mattinson review of Bekkers Grenache 2023.

Bekkers McLaren Vale Grenache 2023
$90, 14% alcohol, screwcap, McLaren Vale.

This is an elite wine, structured, flavoursome, spicy and more. It has terrific length too. It tastes of earth, raspberries-dipped-in-cocoa, aromatic herbs and crushed fennel, the latter strewn with twig notes, and a general savouriness. This is the kind of wine that has put McLaren Vale grenache on the world map. It has the fruit, it has the spice, it has the finesse and the sinewy-spiciness. It is, simply, a great drink. 95 points.
