Biscay Road Shiraz 2024
AU$25, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Barossa Valley.
This Barossa red was matured in French oak but it tastes mostly of pure, fresh, well-ripened shiraz grapes. That’s a very good thing, and the reason that I like this wine so much. The flavours here are in the redcurrant, plum, mint and anise spectrum, with floral, tobacco and sweet spice notes as highlights. It’s an easy wine to like and indeed to appreciate. It’s perfectly priced too. 91 points.
