This is an emphatic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon in anyone’s language. It’s rich, luscious, tannic and well-balanced, with excellent length, muscle, fruit and flair. It tastes of blackcurrant, gravel, blueberry, woodsmoke and choc-mint, and while it carries herbal inflections they are whispers at most – and do only enough to remind us that we are in cabernet territory, proud and true. This is a velvety wine with f=plenty of flex; it’s outstanding.
