They sure like their oak at Jackson/Cambria. This wine is awash with spicy oak, malt, grilled stonefruits and almond flavours, though it also boasts lovely carry of flavour through the finish. It feels too worked but this wine’s power, and length of flavour, are excellent. Apparently the oak was dialled down for this vintage but it still shows pretty keenly. 92 points.
